April Dolan
Painter/Jewelry Maker/Instructor
Owner April Lily & Co.
After spending the last sixteen years between NYC and MA, I’ve relocated to Fort Lauderdale to work on my art, Yoga practice, and April Lily & Co.
I have a degree in Film from the University of MA, a French language certificate from The Sorbonne in Paris, studied Fine Art at Brooklyn College and am a Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor from Frog Pond Yoga in Princeton, MA.
My painting career began developing under the mentorship of Prof. Archie Rand, who encouraged me to develop my own style without formally following the rules of the trade. I was lucky enough to show my painting “Norma” at the Brooklyn Museum, my portfolio at CBGB’s Gallery on Bowery, Jan Larson Art in DUMBO, FAR Space in Chelsea, and at an exhibition for The United Nations’ UNCG.
From 2005-2007 I showed at my warehouse studio in Brooklyn, and then at my midtown gallery from 2008-2011. Commissions include the German company Droege in the Empire State Building, and the Manhattan based construction company Crossland Mechanical, Inc.
It is very exciting to be in beautiful Fort Lauderdale, and be able to work on developing April Lily & Co. My goal is to encourage local artists, be Earth friendly, bring awareness and support to animal abuse, child abuse and to donate a percentage of sales to charity. The more we grow, the more we can do.
Thank you for stopping by!
